Voice Recording & Records
Voice Recording lets you capture spoken notes on-site — Inoscope transcribes speech in real time and stores each recording in the Records page for later review or use in assessments.
Desktop & Mobile Only
The Voice Recording feature is available on the desktop app and mobile app. It is not available in the web browser version.
Starting a Voice Recording
From the dashboard, tap the + floating action button in the bottom-right corner.

Two options appear:
- New Assessment — create a new assessment
- Voice Recording — open the recording screen
Tap Voice Recording.
The Recording Screen

The recording screen has three parts:
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Transcript panel | Live transcription appears here as you speak |
| Timer | Shows elapsed recording time |
| Microphone button | Tap to start, tap again to pause |
To record:
- Tap the green microphone button — the timer starts and the transcript panel shows "Listening…"
- Speak clearly — the transcript updates in real time, labelled by speaker
- Tap the microphone button again to pause
- Tap Save Recording to save
Once saved, a confirmation message — "Saved and sent for summarisation" — appears at the bottom. The recording is sent for AI summarisation in the background.
Viewing a Recording
Tap any recording in the Records list to open its detail page.

The detail page contains:
- Audio player — play back the original recording with a seek bar and duration
- Summary — an AI-generated summary broken into Overview, Key Points, and Details sections; tap the refresh icon to regenerate
- Transcript — the full word-for-word transcript labelled by speaker
Finding Your Recordings
All saved recordings are stored in the Records page. Open the sidebar menu and tap Records.

Each recording card shows:
- Recording ID — a unique identifier
- Date and time recorded
- File size
- Summary badge — appears once the AI summary is ready; tap it to read the generated summary
The most recent recording appears at the top of the list.
Attaching a Recording to a Tender Assessment
Recordings can be attached directly to a Tender Assessment to feed the transcript and summary into the assessment's AI analysis.
Open a Tender Assessment and go to the Overview tab. Tap the + icon next to the Files section header.

Three options appear:
- Upload Files — upload files from your device
- Add from Files — attach a previously indexed file
- Add from Records — attach a saved voice recording
Tap Add from Records, select a recording from the picker, and the transcript and summary will be appended to the assessment's context for AI processing.
